This course explores common dysfunction in muscles and how to identify them. Postural analysis, individual muscle tests, postural correction and alterntative methods to address imbalance with Pilates.
Includes the following:
• Muscles: Testing and Function – why does the hamstring become dysfunctional? How can we spot dysfunctions with individuals?
• Postural Analysis – Individual muscle tests will be explained and demonstrated so you learn the tools of one to one assessment.

• Anatomy of the Shoulder complex / Cervical spine. Role and function of Rotator Cuff
• Assessment of the Gleno-Humeral Joint / Shoulder Girdle / Cervical Spine including ortheopaedic and functional tests. Assessment of abduction.
• Sports Injuries specific to the Upper Limb / referred pain
• Treatment, mobilisation / soft tissue techniques to the Gleno-Humeral and Shoulder Girdle
• Muscle Energy Techniques (METs) and specific stretches to encourage ROM
• Mobilisation of Accessory Joints to encourage inferior glide during abduction

• Mobilisation of Accessory Joints / manipulation techniques of the Proximal Tibia-Fibula Joint and Sub-Talar Joint
